Beautiful blue blooms on this lovely classic wildflower.

This dependable annual in periwinkle blue is native to Europe, though has made its home across North America and has a grows great in Southern California and the American southwest.  Drought tolerant, Blue Bachelor Buttons prefer to bloom during the cooler temps of spring and can be used as a wonderful cut flower as well. You can also  dry cornflowers, as they keep their color very well.  The flower may have gotten its name from an early use. Bachelors would wear them in the buttonholes of their suit coats when they went courting.

Recommended planting requirements: Sow Bachelor’s Button seeds directly in the garden in spring, about 4 inches apart; cover seeds with ¼ to ½ inch of soil and press gently.

Growing Recommendations: Broadcast seeds to fill in empty spaces in garden. Plant in full sun during spring.  Will reseed. For continual production, prune dead stems.
